Cálmala takes the vibrant, rhythmic cumbia you know and love and gives it an electrifying, psychedelic twist. Rising from the ashes of the legendary desert band Ocho Ojos, this exciting new group explores dark grooves and experimental effects, practically hypnotizing their audiences to keep them dancing all night long. A self-proclaimed “party band,” Cálmala adds a heavier edge to catchy cumbia that inspires even the hardest of rockers to move their feet. Frontman Danny Torres uses a vocal processor to transform his voice into different characters and narrators, adding a sense of spontaneity and fun to the Cálmala’s performances.
